The CMOS Sequencing Chips

At the heart of our system are CMOS chips (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor), the first chips that deliver purely electrical-based sequencing. Shifting from optical to electrical sequencing provides a cost-effective, scalable solution without the need for excessive sample batching.

The G3 chip, which is our commercially available product contains 16 million sensors. With future release of higher density chips, you can scale up your throughput whenever you want, without changing the underlying instrument. Existing hardware of the sequencer is forward compatible with the higher density chips. The 16 million sensor chip enables a number of applications such as, targeted resequencing, small genomes and small RNA sequencing.
